Museums

Taiwan has numerous museums on everything from stamps to Aboriginal culture.

By far, the most impressive and important Chinese museum in Taiwan is the National Palace Museum, with its impressive collection of artifacts/ceramics and other fine art. Thousands of years old and with only a fraction of the total holdings on display at any one time in the exhibits, the museum has a fascinating history, too.

As Taiwan develops even further, new museums are popping up every year, especially ethnic/cultural museums whose functions are to preserve dying traditions and inform the younger generations of the richness of tradition and ancient peoples who have inhabited Taiwan over the centuries.
