Established in 1975, the Chinese Division (part of the new Language Center in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences) offers classes to foreigners holding a high school diploma (check for current regulations) and passport to apply. You should apply 6 weeks before the start of the new semester of classes.

If you've studied any Chinese before you have to take a placement test to determine your course level. They offer 8 levels currently and also offer classes in Taiwanese, Chinese character writing, typing, literature, philosophy, history and culture (but are only available to those taking at least 10 hours of class a week, this is considered full time and also certifies you to receive a Student Visa should you need one- see Visas section for more details.)

Established in 1971, the Chinese Language Center offers non-credited classes to non-Chinese speaking students (there are over 450 each year...) Offering several different types of courses, as does Fengchia Univ., all the teachers here have over 5 years experience teaching Chinese to foreigners and students also must take a placement test to determine course level.

(Like Fengchia Univ, here they also offer other types of courses but they are only available to those taking at least 10 hours of class a week, this is considered full time and also certifies you to receive a Student Visa should you need one- see Visas section for more details.)

Take red bus #38, green bus #22 to the last stop (inside the campus)

Tunghai Villas is behind the campus and has good nightmarket/nightlife
