Pei-Tou Hot Springs Museum

The 1st hot spring built on the island, by the Japanese, great natural spa lovers during colonia rule (1895-1945)

est. 1913, previously was a public bathhouse

Tudor country architecture, renovated and reopened in 1998, exhibits on the rise of hotsprings in Peitou

Look for the 'Peitou Stone', an almost 800 kg rock deposited by the hot springs over a period of nearly a million years. It is very unique as it is said to contain low-level radiation radium which holds a 'special healing power' and can only be found outside Taiwan in Japan and Russia.

Located on the east bank of teh Tamsui River in BaLi, it is the 1st archealogical Museum in Taiwan and is built on the ruins of the ShiSanHang people from 1,800 years ago.

Interesting architecture and surrounding ocean view areas, a port, a fort and the Old Ferry Street.

4 level museum about paper-making/beautiful displays, built five years after Shu-Huo was killed in a crash, his daughter established the museum Oct. 2, 1995.

Contains a history of paper-making in Taiwan and around the world. A course is offered on how to make paper so you can try for yourself.
