The island is a perfect place for biking (especially the mountains/hills) and bicycle trails are being developed in many cities as well.

A proposed cycling trail from Taipei to Taichung is currently in the works and there are many cyclists who have managed to bike clear from Taipei to Kenting in less than a week on side streets.
