Taxis
will charge you NT$75 upon boarding, with NT$5 increases
for the remainder of the journey. You may be charged
NT$10 on up for using the trunk, depending on the size
of whatever you are having them transport. Most drivers
outside of Taipei speak little to no English and you
are advised to carry a printed address and phone number
of your destination in Chinese which will help them
when they stop and ask directions from someone else
upon getting lost...
Flagging
a driver by hand is easy and you may have to turn away
driver's at large department stores or airports, etc.
Dispatch taxis may also be called from almost any destination
and if you are on a regular route you may be able to
contract with the company for a less expensive rate
if you travel frequently (say, to a school in the boondocks
which you may be able to get your boss to front the
transport bill for from your city located apt...)
